Netflix Will Continue “House of Cards” Without Kevin Spacey

House of Cards

Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) has announced that it will finish its highly popular series “House of Cards” but that production of the show’s final season will not star Kevin Spacey.

The decision to remove Kevin Spacey from the show is due to the many allegations of sexual misconduct currently facing the actor. Spacey was accused of trying to seduce actor Anthony Rapp in 1986 when Rapp was 14. There have also been allegations of sexual misconduct against Spacey reportedly coming from current and former “House of Cards” employees.

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said of the decision, “We have made an arrangement to produce six seasons of ‘House of Cards’. It will be an eight-episode season. It will start production in early 2018 and it will not involve Kevin Spacey.”
