After President Trump published a very suggestive tweet about Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on Tuesday, a number of Democratic senators stepped into the conversation and defended Sen. Gillibrand. One of these people is Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who has been known for publicly calling out Donald Trump on a number of occasions.
Warren took to Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) and did not hold anything back, asking the president if he was trying to “bully, intimidate, and slut-shame” Sen. Gillibrand.
“Are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame @SenGillibrand? Do you know who you’re picking a fight with? Good luck with that, @realDonaldTrump. Nevertheless, #shepersisted.”
Further, Sen. Mazie Hirono also defended Sen. Gillibrand’s honor, stating that President Trump is a “compulsive liar, and admitted sexual predator,” adding, “Attacks on Kirsten are the latest example that none is safe from this bully. He must resign.”
Trump decided to attack Sen. Gillibrand on Twitter just one day after she stated in an interview that Trump should resign and that Congress should be investigating his actions in order to hold him responsible to the sexual misconduct allegations he was accused of before he became the 45th President of the United States.
Another Democratic senator came forward Tuesday to defend Gillibrand, saying “@realDonaldTrump, your insecurity is showing.”
