Nvidia Corp Confirms AI Deals with Chinese Tech Giants

If you’re interested in the semiconductor industry, or semiconductor chip companies, here’s some exciting news! Jensen Huang, Chief Executive of Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:$NVDA), announced late Monday night that the technology company will be supplying its AI-focused GPU hardware to a number of China’s largest-cloud computing providers as well as server-hardware manufacturers. There will also be several new partnerships with server-hardware makers.

“AI is the most important technology development of our time, with the greatest potential to help society,” Huang said. “As the world’s leading cloud providers deploy the world’s best AI platform, with Volta GPUs and Nvidia software, we’ll see amazing breakthroughs in medicine, autonomous transportation, precision manufacturing and much more.”

It’s not a total surprise that Nvidia is speaking highly of artificial intelligence as the California-based company has made a number of large bets on AI and cloud computing over the course of the past few years. Why? Most likely because Nvidia wants to move away from its bread-and-butter gaming business, which tends to experience seasonal fluctuations.

Additionally, at the GTC China event, Nvidia revealed another product that would benefit cloud computing and servers: an updated version of its TensorRT inference software. What does it do? It increases performance and cuts cost in self-driving robots and vehicles and cloud computing.

Huang made the announcement at the company’s GTC China conference in Beijing.
