Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NASDAQ:$HPE) acquired a cloud-consulting company, Cloud Technology Partners, for an undisclosed amount earlier this week. The incentive? HPE hopes to strengthen its hybrid IT consulting capabilities in the Cloud market space.
The cloud consulting company has a demonstrated history in advising enterprises on cloud technology needs. While businesses now have a large selection of cloud solutions to choose from, such as Microsoft (NASDAQ:$MSFT), Google (NASDAQ:$GOOGL), and Amazon.com (NASDAQ:$AMZN), CTP helps them to navigate and set up this process.
Essentially, as HPE CEO Meg Whitman describes it, CTP is a “leading cloud consulting company that helps its Fortune 500 customers move to a cloud, build new cloud-based solutions and manage their cloud environment.”
A little bit more about CTP:
- In total, CTP has raised $34 million in funding from investors
- Its customers include Land O’ Lakes and Avid Technology
- It has completed close to 500 cloud transformation projects
Overall, spending in the hybrid IT consulting and cloud native development is expected to rise at a compound annual growth rate of 18%, from $6 billion to $7.1 billion in 2017. HPE hopes to leverage CTP’s existing customer base to obtain a strong position within the sector.
