Nokia (NYSE:$NOK) has announced a collaboration with Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions GmbH on a strategic partnership to enable enterprises and Communications Service Providers to better deploy industrial IoT solutions from sensors through to applications.
The initial stages will concentrate on asset tracking, predictive maintenance and environmental monitoring use cases. The companies are currently conducting several customer trials in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
More specifically, the deal will have Nokia providing its IoT connective IMPACT/Netguard secure IoT Cloud platform and WING for IoR connectivity services using the ecosystem of mobile operators and sensing services. Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions, on the other hand, will provide smart connected sensor devices, which will enable industrial customers to improve their equipment efficiency and safety. Together, this intelligent devices measure and transmit relevant environmental data based on high-quality Bosch MEMS sensors through an energy-efficient architectural partnership.

This combination of devices, connectivity and services from two worldwide leaders will allow rapid deployment of large-scale, innovative IoT applications.”
