With its rivals Apple (NASDAQ:$AAPL) and Amazon.com (NASDAQ:$AMZN) hosting their own blockbuster product launch events back in September, Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:$GOOGL) had a lot to live up to at its Google’s Pixel event. Thankfully, Google did not disappoint: it unveiled a plethora of new products that piqued technology investors’ curiosity.

Let’s go through the list.

Pixel 2

This one was expected. The Pixel 2 was the much anticipated new Pixel smartphone. The standard Pixel 2 sees a 5-inch OLED display, while the larger Pixel 2 XL features a 6-inch OLED display. The aesthetic design of the phone is somewhat similar, albeit underwhelming minor tweaks. The real improvements came from internal spec upgrades, most notably in camera quality.

One of the key selling points of the original Pixel is the DxOMark Mobile score of 89, proclaiming that the Pixel carries the best smartphone camera ever. Then, Apple clapped back with a new record score of 94 with the launch of the iPhone X. Of course, Pixel 2 had to respond with an even newer record high of 98. How we love the battle of the tech giants.

Google Home

Google is expanding its Google Home lineup with two new additions: Google Home Mini and Google Home Max. The expansion aligns with Google’s goal of growing its portfolio of voice-controlled smart-home products. The Mini, in particular, sells itself as a low-cost device that is reminiscent of the Echo Dot, at a price of $50. Google Home Max, on the other hand, looks to directly compete with Apple’s HomePod, due out in December. Perhaps the use artificial intelligence to adapt its audio output to its surroundings can be attributed to its whopping $349 price point.

Pixelbook

Google says that the new Pixelbook is “the thinnest, lightest laptop we’ve ever made.” The device carries a 12.3-inch touch screen that includes a hinge that allows it to flip all the way back as a stand. The device is powered by Intel (NASDAQ:$INTC) Core i5 and i& processors.

Pixel Buds

This is Google’s new wireless headphones. While they aren’t entirely wireless like Apple’s Airpods, they are connected to each other by a fabric loop. But, these items are priced at the same number at $159 as AirPods.

Google Clips

This one caught everyone by surprise. Despite the similar name, Google Clips are completely different from Apple’s Clips. Google Clips is a lightweight, hands-free camera that Google believes can assist users in capturing spontaneous moments. The device is also wearable, which upon the news release, decreased GoPro’s (NASDAQ:$GPRO) shares by 6%.

Other Worthy Mentions

Other releases include Daydream View- allowing users to strap their phones to their faces for augmented reality and virtual reality experiences, and a new Google Assistant.
