Target Introduces New Service Called “Drive Up” in Twin Cities

Target Introduces New Service

You can now say goodbye to $100+ Target runs when all you needed was some milk and eggs. On Tuesday, October 3, Target Corp. (NYSE:$TGT) launched a service called “Drive Up”, which allows customers the chance to get their essential shopping items without ever having to leave the car.

According to Target’s Bullseye View blog, the service is only available in the Minneapolis-St Paul area, but they do plan to roll it out elsewhere in the coming months. Target said they want to fix any bugs or glitches along the way before expanding “Drive Up”.

Here’s what we know about Target’s “Drive Up” service:

– An individual can place an order in the Target app and then select “Drive Up” as the chosen method of delivery.

– Target will alert customers when their items are ready.

– Customers will then hit the “I’m on My Way” button before heading to the store.

– There will be a designated “Drive Up” parking spot in front of the building and a Target team member will come out with their order.

Based on the information provided by Target’s blog, there will be more than 200,000 eligible items available through the service. This includes the following: toys, household items, furnishings, baby care, and non-perishable food items.

The takeaway? It’s pretty much the retail sector’s version of fast food.
