El Pollo Loco (NASDAQ:LOCO) just opened up their 25th location in the greater Phoenix area in Avondale, Arizona. The restaurant can hold up to 70 guests and is 2,995 sq feet.
The restaurants’ stock has lost around 15.5 percent year-to-date against their industry’s gain of 14.7 percent.
This new ‘outlet’ features the brand’s new visual design, which includes an open kitchen concept and new menus to display their authentic, Mexican-inspired atmosphere. The company’s new launch is aimed at grabbing customer’s attention at how their signature dishes are made, in hopes to boost sales for further expansion.
El Pollo Loco Holdings, Inc. Revenue (TTM)
El Pollo Loco has over 470 restaurant chains company-owned and franchised across Utah, Nevada, California, Texas, and Arizona. They are hoping to expand to Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico, in the near future.
However, as many of their competitors have taken their franchises overseas, El Pollo Loco is losing out and lagging on that sales edge.
