As one of the top Canadian Clean-Tech company’s, Earth Alive Clean Technologies Inc (CNSX:$EAC) has announced that a full scale test of its EA1™ dust suppressant technology has been commissioned by Kinross Gold Corporation ($KGC) for its Paracatu Mine which is located in Brazil’s Minas Gerais region.
One of the major concerns in the mining industry is dust control as there are a number of effects dust can have on the environment, an individual’s health and safety, and nearby communities. Additionally, airborne dust can cause major economic and productivity consequences on industrial operations. This is why the EA1™ technology has been introduced as it is a 100% organic and biodegradable dust control product which uses the most recent advances in microbial technology in an attempt to prevent haul road dust from turning airborne.
As of right now, Kinross’ test order is the first to be performed in Brazil. Testing began on June 10, 2017 at the Paracatu open-pit gold mine.
According to Marcelo Soutullo, VP Global Operation for Dust Control at Earth Alive, “we are very pleased to be working with Kinross. Having such an important Canadian-based senior gold producer is a direct reflection of the widespread interest weare now witnessing for our environmentally sustainable dust control program for mining.”
Kinross Gold Corporation plans to minimize its environmental footprint while their Sustainability Program pushes forward to try to meet regulatory requirements by developing sustainable programs. Controlling dust discharge and decreasing the use of chemicals and water are all compatible with Kinross Sustainability Processes.
