Amazon Launches Black Friday Store

Amazon

Unlike some retailers, Amazon Inc. (NASDAQ:$AMZN) isn’t too worried about the post-Halloween depression. In fact, the e-commerce giant has already jumped the gun on Black Friday.

Deals have already started surfacing as Amazon prepares for the biggest shopping day of the year. The online retailer has launched a “Countdown to Black Friday” landing page where it posts “deals of the day” which are very similar to the “lightning deals” that run throughout the rest of the year.

Keep in mind the daily discounts are pretty narrow to start off. On November 1, they posted a number of price cuts on kid’s toys, a Dyson vacuum, and a TV. And today, on November 2, Amazon put up dress shoes, Hoover vacuums, and home theater systems for the sale.

The appeal, it seems, is that customers are encouraged to come back daily to check out the new deals. Basically, it’s like an advent calendar for adults, and instead of chocolate, you get a new item every day.

Further, Oprah published her annual “Favorite Things” gift guide on the site on Thursday. The list included a number of Amazon-branded products, including a private-label cashmere sweater.

Check out Amazon’s site tomorrow to see what goodies are for sale!
