In Tuesday’s extended trading session, U.S. Steel Corp. (NYSE:$X) saw its shares skyrocket after the company’s quarterly results topped Wall Street estimates.
The shares of the Pittsburgh-based company rallied 10% to $26.90 after hours. Looking at the quarterly results, one can see that the steel marker had Q2 earnings of $1.48 a share on revenue of $3.14 billion. Analysts were surveyed by FactSet, and the results indicated that the analysts had an estimated earnings of 36 cents a share on revenue of $2.98 billion. U.S. Steel Corp. forecasts full-year earnings of $1.70 a share, and analysts estimate earnings of 84 cents a share.
