Comcast Corporation Reportedly in Talks About Buying Twenty-First Century Fox Assets

Comcast Corporation

Sources have come forward on Thursday, stating that Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:$CMCSA) has approached Twenty-First Century Fox (NASDAQ:$FOXA) and expressed an interest in acquiring some of their assets.

The matter is still extremely private, but the source did confirm two things:

  1. Talks are ongoing
  2. The assets that Comcast is interested in acquiring are the ones that Disney (NYSE:$DIS) approached Fox about earlier this year

Talks might be going on between Comcast and Fox, but the deal is certainly not over between Disney and Fox, so Comcast has to remember to watch its back. If a Comcast-Fox deal were to come through, it would have the same regulatory issues that Disney would face in acquiring the assets.

In after-hours trade, Fox shares increased more than 6% and Comcast Corporation shares increased roughly 0.75%.
