Tesla Updates its Referral Program to Include Solar and Powerwall Customers

referral program

Guess what? Tesla (NASDAQ:$TSLA) just updated its referral program to include customers who have purchased a solar product or Powerwall, which is the company’s home battery unit. The update is effective September 28, 2017.

Who else is impacted by the update? Model X and Model S owners will be; they are now eligible to refer friends to purchase Tesla solar products. At the same time, Tesla solar customers can refer friends to buy solar panels or a Model X/S with free unlimited Supercharging.

Additionally, Tesla has recently updated its mobile phone app, adding a new feature that lets users see how much CO2 emissions have been offset by other Tesla owners within their area.

If you are a prospective Model X and Model S buyer looking to capitalize on the $1,000 discount off the purchase vehicle price by using one of Tesla’s referral codes, that discount will be terminated on October 31, 2017.

As of right now, it’s not clear if the update will stay above ground and for how long, as the company has been known to make periodic changes to its referral program.

Tesla seems to be ramping up its efforts ahead of the release of its new models.
