By now, most people are aware that Amazon (NASDAQ:$AMZN) is looking for a home for its second headquarters. However, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, September 12, that Amazon executives are pushing for Boston to be the location.
Why? Well, execs reportedly like the fact that Boston is close to prestigious schools like Harvard and MIT, which would help to fill its ranks with highly educated alumni with different specializations, whether it be engineering or the arts.
Surprisingly, CNBC had its own analysis of where Amazon might put its new headquarters, and Boston was ranked fifth.
Furthermore, executives might like the fact that Boston is close to an airport, which was one of Amazon’s requirements, and it is also along public transit routes. Even though Boston has its own train, it is still close to Amtrak, which allows for easy access to the rest of the northeast seaboard.
Keep in mind that Bloomberg’s report doesn’t necessarily mean that Boston is going to win, it just illustrates that there are some executives inside that are putting all of their eggs into the Boston basket.
