If you’re interested in the retail sector, you probably know that Amazon is leading the ongoing smart home speaker battle. And now, Strategy Analytics has released new data which suggests that Amazon’s (NASDAQ:$AMZN) smart assistant (“Alexa”) is beating Google (NASDAQ:$GOOGL) in the home. According to Strategy Analytics, Amazon Alexa will be on 68% of all smart speakers by the end of Q4 of this year. What does this include? Well, for starters, it includes Echos built by Amazon and a number of other products built by third-parties that also run Alexa. For instance, Sonos will launch a speaker that runs Alexa.

It shouldn’t come as a total surprise that Amazon has such a large share. It does, after all, have a massive selection across price ranges, such as a low-cost Echo Dot speaker that costs roughly $35 when on sale. Additionally, Amazon has introduced a variety of new products that will be available before 2018.

As for Google, the Mountain View, California-based company’s slice of the pie will come in at 24% of all sales during Q4, Strategy Analytics said. Google’s most recent product release was the Google Home Mini speaker, but it has gotten off to a rocky start. For example, one reporter discovered that the device was recording him without his permission.

Based on Strategy Analytics latest data report, Amazon, Google and Baidu (NASDAQ:$BIDU) will continue to be the top leaders in the smart home speaker market until about 2020, which is when the firm forecasts all three companies will leave hardware development to third parties.
