Clearly being the richest man in the world wasn’t enough for Jeff Bezos.
On Black Friday, after Amazon (NASDAQ:$AMZN) shares surged, founder and CEO Jeff Bezos witnessed his net worth increase to $100.3 billion, according to Bloomberg estimates. That’s 100,000,000,000 dollars; that’s a lot of zeros.
Amazon’s stock has increased significantly this year and Bezos has reaped all the benefits. Did you know that he has earned $32.6 billion in 2017 alone?
While there is no denying that AMZN has excelled this year, primarily because they are carving out an even bigger lead in the e-commerce sector, it was the stock price bump on Black Friday that pushed Bezos over the 12-figure mark.
So, the question on everyone’s mind is: what is he going to do with all of that money?
Well, Bezos is open to suggestions. Back in June, the CEO tweeted a “request for ideas.” He announced that he wants his “philanthropic activity to be helping people in the here and now- short term- at the intersection of urgent need and lasting impact.”
As of right now, there are almost 50 thousand replies to Bezos’ tweet. And while I’m sure the 47,742 people who replied to the Amazon CEO had tremendous ideas, I think Bezos should just split some of the money with me. That’s fair, right?
