Did Trump Just Declare War on North Korea? The Foreign Minister Says Yes

North Korea

Ri Yong Ho, North Korea’s Foreign Minister, just accused President Donald Trump of declaring war on his country. Why? Because Trump tweeted over the weekend that North Korea “won’t be around much longer.”

“Last weekend Trump claimed that our leadership wouldn’t be around much longer and declared a war on our country,” Ri stated, according to an official transcript of his comments to reporters.

Ri went on to say the following: “Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make all self-defensive countermeasures, including the right to shoot down the United States strategic bombers at any time even when they are not yet inside the aerospace border of our country.”

As of early morning on Monday, September 25, the Trump administration has refused to comment on North Korea’s remarks.

For those who don’t know, the tension between the United States and North Korea continued on Saturday when the US military, in a demonstration of force, flew bombers in international airspace over waters east of North Korea.

On Saturday, speaking at the UN, Ri stated that Trump made a missile attack on the United States mainland inevitable by constantly insulting North Korea. “None other than Trump himself is on a suicide mission,” Ri said.

In response, as per usual, Trump took to Twitter Saturday night to dismiss Ri’s comments.

“Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at UN. If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won’t be around much longer!”
