Donald Trump Admits Stormy Daniels Reimbursement

Donald Trump Admits Reimbursement

The latest controversy to surround Donald Trump and the White House emerged today. Both President Trump and White House press secretary Sarah Sanders spent Thursday trying to cover their tracks. At least, Trump did. Sanders just appeared to be trying to defend her credibility.

Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels – The Latest

Yesterday, the president’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, announced that Donald Trump had reimbursed Michael Cohen, Trump’s attorney, for the $130,000 hush money payment made to Ms. Daniels. Until that point, Trump had denied any involvement with the porn actress. He had even told the media that he had no knowledge of a hush money payment. Turns out, that one was false.

After Giuliani made the statement Wednesday, Trump tweeted Thursday morning that the $130,000 had come from the retainer he had paid Michael Cohen. Many don’t believe this, though, probably because it wouldn’t be the first time Trump has bent the truth.

Meanwhile, Trump wasn’t the only one made to look like a fool today. Apparently, Sarah Sanders hadn’t even known about the reimbursement. Not until Wednesday night, at least, after Giuliani dropped the bomb. It doesn’t matter if the top members of the White House knew or not, there are going to be some serious consequences regardless. Why? Because the admissions by Giuliani contradict almost everything the American people have been told over the past couple months, so how else are people supposed to react? Are they just going to forget that they’ve been lied to, manipulated to for the past few months? Probably not.

With that being said, there are a few Trump supporters who have come forward, said that acknowledging Ms. Daniels’ payment was a smart move. Perhaps these supporters think this way because they know that denying something only makes matters worse. The more you lie about something, the more consequences there are going to be. It’s possible the Trump administration clued in on this.

The Takeaway

What do you think about everything that’s going on with Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels? Can you believe there are problems like this circulating around a world leader?
