Delta Airlines Orders 100 Airbuses, Sees Growth Within The Last Month

Delta Airlines

Set to announce soon, Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is set to order 100 Airbus (NYSE:EADSF) A321neo jets soon. The company plans on announcing their presentation tomorrow. This will be a big win for Airbus. It’s main rival, U.S airplane manufacturer Boeing (NYSE:BA), suffered a major loss as it expected the airline to order 100 of its 737 MAX planes instead.

The value of the current Airbus order is over $12.7 billion, though, most manufacturers offer discounts when new planes are ordered. Both companies declined to comment yet, however, as some purchases fall apart at the last minute.

Delta’s current average fleet is around 17 years old and their new jets have been highly anticipated. Delta shares have grown over the last month now just over $53.00 and since the announcement of the new Airbus order, Boeing’s shares haven’t changed much.
