Trump Calls Former White House Official a “Low-Life” and “Dog”

On Tuesday, Donald Trump called out Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former White House staffer. He did so by using demeaning slurs, language that a president, regardless of the country, should never use.

Trump Calls Out Omarosa Manigault Newman

Today, the White House published a brief statement regarding Omarosa Manigault Newman, who served an 11-month stint as a senior White House official. To no surprise, the House issued the statement on the same day Newman’s book about her time at the White House went on sale.

According to the White House, they filed a complaint against Newman, via the American Arbitration Association of New York City. Details are unclear at the moment, but the White House did say the claim is due to Newman violating a 2016 confidentiality agreement.

But people aren’t talking about the outcome of this complaint. Maybe that would have been the case, had Donald Trump not said what he did today, but now no one is interested in knowing the truth. Everyone is just angry at what the president called Omarosa Manigault Newman.

And what was that? Well, aside from a low-life, the public is outraged at Trump’s use of the word ‘dog.’ But who is surprised at that? Not me.

Trump’s Tweet

Trump has not shied away from using derogatory terms to describe people since his inauguration (he’s used ‘dog’ before, and let’s not forget the ‘animals’ comment), but even then, it still takes the public back a few steps whenever he does—which is fair.

Here’s the tweet:

So, as you can see, this is a classic case of bullying. One user even wrote back to Trump that he should start using the motto he uses with his 1st graders: “It’s OK to be mad, it’s NOT OK to be mean.”

The Takeaway

Though it’s doubtful, we can’t ignore the possibility that the White House’s claim about Omarosa Manigault Newman is true. Either way, Donald Trump should not have reacted in the way that he did. Let’s forget for a minute that Trump sounded like a child who did not get his way in the tweet, but no president (ever) should use that sort of language.
