It’s not just the Internet that is trolling the Trump administration. Apparently a top vodka brand wanted to join in on the action as well.

Smirnoff Vodka recently started to run an advertisement in the United States which leans heavily on its Russian heritage in an attempt to tease the White House over the claims that there was complicity  between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign.

“Made in America,” the advertisement reads. “But we’d be happy to talk about our ties to Russia under oath.”

Currently owned by Diageo, Smirnoff can trace its roots back to 19th Century Russia. Aside from the witty slogan, the advertisement features a bottle of Smirnoff next to a Moscow Mule cocktail, which the vodka brand insists that they invented in 1941.

In a statement released by Diageo, the company stated that “Smirnoff has been made in America for more than eight decades.” A spokesperson for the company added, “the recent interest in American-made products created the perfect opportunity to reinforce that fact and the brand’s roots in Russia — with a wink and nod to current affairs.”

Smirnoff’s latest advertisement has done a fantastic job at intertwining current affairs with satire but it’s not only that, there’s also a hint of irony in it. Surprisingly, Trump does not drink alcohol. Why is this surprising? Well for starters it means that the president’s 3 am twitter rants are done entirely sober.

The spokesperson for Diageo did not disclose the location of where the advertisement was running or how long it would be running for. So, enjoy it while you can.

Last month, the Justice Department named Robert Mueller, former FBI director, as special counsel to supervise an investigation into Russia’s supposed interference in the 2016 presidential election. The investigation will include the possible conspiracy between Russian officials and members of Trump’s campaign.

In June, James Comey, former FBI director, testified that Donald Trump had forced him to drop an inquiry into Michael Flynn, the ex-national security adviser. Attorney General Jeff Sessions testified on June 13 at a public hearing of the Senate intelligence committee.
