Are you interested in application software investing? If so, you might want to mark the following dates on your calendar. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:$MSFT) has announced that it will be holding a Windows Mixed Reality event in October. The event was announced on Monday, September 18, and yet the software behemoth has already started to invite members of the press to the event which will take place on October 3rd in San Francisco.
What do we know about the event? Well, according to the invite, the Windows Mixed Reality event is an “opportunity to hear where Microsoft is headed next.” The keynote speaker will be Microsoft’s Kinect and HoloLens inventor, Alex Kipman.
Further, many speculate that the Washington-based company will focus primarily on its range of Windows Mixed Reality headsets at the October 3rd event. Why? Because the headsets are scheduled to be available starting October 17th.
According to the Verge, Microsoft has no plans to show off a new version of its HoloLens headset. Microsoft is currently developing a second HoloLens that has a dedicated AI chip, but the successor to the original HoloLens might not arrive until 2019. Reportedly, Microsoft has changed its launch schedule due to the lack of competition in the industry.
