Are you looking for the latest computer hardware technology? If so, pay close attention to the following: On Monday, September 25, GoPro, Inc. (NASDAQ:$GPRO) announced that it will be holding a launch event on Thursday, September 28, in San Francisco, California. What will the launch event entail? Well, GoPro has yet to specifically name the new camera they plan to launch on Thursday, but many speculate it will be the new Hero 6 Black. CEO Nick Woodman will kick things off at 9 a.m. EDT on Thursday.
As of right now, it seems the Hero 6 – priced at $499 – will also go on sale Thursday, as a number of the cameras have already been delivered to stores throughout North America, some of which were displayed a few weeks too early.
What do we know about the Hero 6 Black? Well, it seems all the changes coming to the new camera will be strictly internal. It will resemble the Hero 5 Black, but it will be able to shoot 4K footage at up to 60 frames per second. Additionally, the Hero 6 Black will be able to shoot 1080p footage at up to 240 fps.
Further, the Hero 6 Black is thought to be twice as fast, which offers better transfer speeds, and features which improve digital image stabilization. And what do we have to thank for these advancements? A new processor that was developed in-house called the GP1.
Stay tuned for more details on Thursday – you don’t want to miss them!
