In a tweet on Tuesday, Voyage cofounder MacCallister Higgins hinted at Apple Inc’s (NASDAQ:$AAPL) new self-driving car. The tweet also revealed that a fleet of self-driving cars had been equipped with an array of new sensors.

The sensor rack may look familiar to long-time Apple fans, as it appears to be covered in white plastic iDevice style material. The tweet also mentioned that the array was equipped with six Velodyne lidar sensors.

However, he also mentioned that the Velodyne sensors can only capture 280 degrees of data, instead of the 360 degrees the same sensors can catch when arranged differently on different cars.

Apple currently has three Lexus SUVs in operation to test self-driving car software, according to DMV records filed earlier this year. The New York Times reported that they also plan to operate a self-driving shuttle with the same technology.

Apple’s ‘Project Titan’, the codename for its vehicular ambitions, was radically scaled back in 2016. While original plans highlighted the company’s interest in building a complete vehicle, recent events indicate that the company is focusing purely on the automated driving component for the moment.
