Today, EyeLock LLC announced that it entered into a license agreement with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:$QCOM), which is a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, for Qualcomm® Mobile Security.
Right now, EyeLock is working on iris authentication solutions that are designed to work with Qualcomm Mobile Security. Additionally, these solutions will be able to enable OEMs across the entire loT spectrum to benefit from the iris authentication implementation.
“This agreement is a great acknowledgment of the quality and capability of our technology and an indication of the growing demand for increased security and convenience across a sale of connected devices and diverse market segments, including financial services, healthcare, automotive, and consumer products,” said CEO Jim Demitrieus. “By ensuring that EyeLock’s iris authentication technology works with Qualcomm Mobile Security, we are able to offer the market one of the most advanced security solutions.”
For now, EyeLock will continue to find ways to achieve a breakthrough level of device security and biometric usability for smartphones as well as the loT segment-at-large. Both EyeLock and Qualcomm Technologies demonstrated a device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The device features fast iris recognition at arm’s length distance. Additionally, the device made use of the Qualcomm Camera Security interface.
