Intel Corp. Announces New Core Desktop Processors

If you’re interested in the semiconductor industry, you probably know that shareholders of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:$INTC) have had an uninspiring year in comparison to its competitors. However, things appear to be turning around with the launch of its brand new Core desktop processors.

On Monday, September 25, Intel Corporation, which is a semiconductor manufacturing company, revealed its new Core desktop processors, announcing up to 25% frame-rate improvements for PC gaming versus the chip maker’s previous models. In fact, because of the improvements on the gaming side of things, Intel has gone as far as saying this is the “best gaming desktop processor ever.”

“Our 8th Gen Intel Core desktop processors deliver tremendous improvements across the board and — for gamers, in particular — offer an unbeatable experience,” Anand Srivatsa said in the announcement. Srivatsa is the general manager of Desktop Platform Group at Intel. “We are laser-focused on giving the enthusiast community the ultimate desktop experience, from chart-topping performance to a platform that can flex with their needs.”

The latest Core desktop processors will be available for purchase early next month when it hits stores on October 5.

On Monday, in midday trade, shares of Intel outperformed, dropping 0.3%.
