Not only is Trump thankful for the military this Thanksgiving, but the president also had a lot to say about himself.

On Thursday, during a teleconference with the military on Thanksgiving Day, Trump told the troops that they are winning under his watch. Since Trump’s inauguration, the president believes there has been more progress in Afghanistan and in fighting ISIS than there has been made in the years of the past administrations.

According to Trump, the previous administration did not allow soldiers on the ground to do their jobs to the full extent. Now, however, he said, “We’re not fighting anymore to just walk around, we’re fighting to win.”

He added, “We’re really winning.” Before, the president said, “they weren’t letting you win.”

Before the teleconference, Trump kicked off Thanksgiving by tweeting:

“HAPPY THANKSGIVING, your Country is starting to do really well. Jobs coming back, highest Stock Market EVER, Military getting really strong, we will build the WALL, V.A. taking care of our Vets, great Supreme Court Justice, RECORD CUT IN REGS, lowest unemployment in 17 years….!”

The message is quite clear: Look at what I’ve done.
