The company hopes to become the “world’s first decentralized vehicle check, based on blockchain,” as the company’s “platform of vehicle history reports…is set to debut later on this month,” according to the press release linked in carVertical’s tweet.
This would allow drivers to check if a car has been registered in a stolen car database, search a car’s accident history, learn about any recalls or mistakes that have been caused as a result of the manufacturer, access a gallery of photos throughout the car’s history, and will also include previous pricing that a vehicle has been sold at.
The event, which was organized by the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce, featured several entrepreneurial teams presenting their ideas to a jury for a chance to work at Volkswagen’s Die Gläserne Manufaktur.
Winning this exclusive invite also includes €15,000, or approximately $17,500 USD, in financial support for carVertical and contact with Volkswagen’s Research and Development team.
The partnership has been said to “enhance Volkswagen’s presence as the leader for future mobility applications and provide carVertical with valuable resources and expertise.”
The blockchain company has recently been supported by the European Union for its Operational Programme and will be “supported with various incubation tools, including mentorship and acceleration services.”
Do you think drivers could benefit from carVertical’s platform?
