It’s not a total surprise to hear that Samsung (KRX:$005930) is working on an Active-branded variant of its bellwether Galaxy S8 smartphone, as the device was rumoured towards the start of April. But do you know what was surprising? AT&T’s (NYSE:$T) recent promotion, which accidentally confirmed the Galaxy S8 Active.
The image has been taken down, but it comes from a version of the FAQs for AT&T and Samsung’s currently running TV promotion. With this, the promotion references the S8, S8 Plus, and the not-yet-announced Galaxy S8 Active. Thanks to the accidental leak, investors are now convinced the device exists and will be offered on AT&T.
While there is still no word on pricing or a launch date, there is a considerable amount of information hitting the internet about the S8 Active, therefore it should only be a matter of time until we find out more.
